This is a 30-40 hour position, which requires an energetic, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Job Purpose:
Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the office.
Primary Functions:
Obtains pertinent clinical information including the patient's complaint, health history, and measurement of vital signs Documenting all patient-related communication and interventions in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies Performs eye exams, EKG, Spirometry, ear irrigations.
Performs CLIA-waived lab tests, phlebotomy Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results Always maintains HIPPA Completes referrals Check Out and provide appropriate information to patients Answering phones and scheduling appointments Complete prior authorization for tests Processes incoming medical records to appropriate staff Phlebotomy Answering phones and scheduling appointments Scan documents into EHR Attributes:
Dependable and ability to multitask Community oriented and overall team player Strong and effective with verbal and written communications that is clear, professional, and positive Proficient time management skills Education/
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.
1 year of experience in a Medical Assisting role is preferred.
An active Phlebotomist or Paramedic may also be considered Knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care Knowledge of computerized information services (EMR) used in clinical management setting preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare Flexibility of scheduled hours Shift is 4 days-10 hour shifts
