JOB SUMMARY Protects life and property of all persons on Hospital premises and patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism.
Secures, unlocks and protects hospital buildings.
Responds to security needs of hospital personnel.
Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
One (1) year experience in public safety field required.
Two (2) to five (5) years security or related experience required preferred.
License and Certification:
Current State of Connecticut Certification as a Public Safety Officer or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Successful completion of Fitness for duty test.
Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior, Handcuffing, Oleoresin Capsicum, First Aid, CPR-AED certifications required and as a condition of continued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.
Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING Work is performed in accordance with instructions and procedures, but Incumbents must organize the work and set priorities.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
